BUYING AT AUCTION WITH JONES & LLEWELYN

ATTENDING THE SALE  This can be a most interesting and exciting way of buying something you collect, need or will just enjoy owning.

DO INSPECT the items thoroughly that you are considering purchasing before bidding.  This can be done on the viewing day prior to the sale ( 3-7p.m.) of the morning of the sale 9-10a.m.

Prospective purchasers are also advised to decide on their maximum price before actually bidding and the auctioneers and staff will be pleased to assist in this matter.

DO OBTAIN A BIDDING CARD by registering for a bidding number at the office, an initial attraction of the Auctioneer’s attention will ensure an opening bid, and as the bidding increases, further acknowledgement at required intervals is all that is necessary.  When your bid is successful the Auctioneer will ask for a sight of number allocated to you and you are advised to record the price and lot number on your bidding card.

DO NOT WORRY if you are unable to attend the actual sale or wish to leave before the last lot is offered the Auctioneers and Staff will be pleased to accept commission bids, and enter your bid against the buyers attending the sale.  This is a free service and successful purchasers are notified by post or telephone the first working day following the sale.

The sale will usually be conducted at a rate of approximately 180-200 lots per hour.  A 10% Buyer’s Premium exclusive of VAT is charged on all lots.

Payment must be made on the day of the sale, either by cash or cheque supported by a Banker’s Card or Building Society Cheque or Credit Card (fee payable for this service) or by special arrangement with the Auctioneers.
